So today I sat for my IELTS which stands for Internation English Language Testing Service so I can attend universities in other countries.
The exam took close to three hours but it wasn’t really much of a pain. I mean when you read more books in English than in your native Sinhalese and speak more fluently in English than in your native Sinhalese and so on and so forth, well it’s quite easy.
I’ve decided to embark on an anime adventure of sorts by watching as many anime as I can. But I filter the anime I watch.
1. They aren’t long-running epic stories. I’m gonna limit to a maximum of a hundred episodes and a minimum of 10.
2. I’m going to watch anime that are thematically deeper and more resonant than your average brawl orgy.
I’ve already watched three:
Suisei No Gargantia which I reviewed earlier and Darker Than Black which I will review later if I feel like it. I also watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood which despite having quite a lot of action does qualify due to the nature of it’s content. So yay me.
1. The whole business of being fluent in English and passably ok in my native language is a point of shame. I mean shouldn’t I find my mother tongue easier. Even if I don’t shouldn’t I at least have a better command of it? I can read and write but not very masterfully I’m afraid. 😦
2. Anime that are short are good.
