What is happening to my brain?

So today was quite the eventful day.

I went to meet up some school friends (who I’ve not seen in some time) for lunch.

It was just ten but somehow, it felt like exactly the correct number of people for a good lunch and a fun meet up. Like you know how with the whole of your batch, it’ll be a wonder if you can hear your own voice.

I also started downloading a new anime. Once again it’s a short one. I have a criterion now so yeah. I don’t want to name it though. If I don’t like it, I might stop it halfway.

Although I don’t think I’ll dislike it.

But the most amazing thing is how creatively productive I’ve become.

A few posts ago, I said that’d finally written a short story after quite some time. Well since then , I’ve written four more.

Here are the story titles. Yes only their titles.
Here are the story titles. Yes only their titles.

(I wrote ‘Perfect Coffee’ first. Then wrote ‘Lets have sex again’. Then came ‘Grandma is dead’ followed by ‘Pink Knee High Boots and finally, ‘Playing the piano for your dead friend’ today. The first two I edited on the same day which explains their date modified being the same.)

I have no idea where they came from. The last one was today. I came home from my meet-up with my friends at around 6.30 pm (Sri Lankan Time) and then just sat down in front of my pc and typed it up flat.

To be fair, the idea first came into my brain yesterday but I had no solid idea of what the story would be like until I wrote it. And I did it.

Obviously, one can’t write  a perfect, amazing wonderful story in like  two hours (yes that’s actually how long it took) but at this point, I’ll take anything. And except for a few punctuation errors in it, there’s really not much wrong with it.

I mean, within the space of like two weeks (I think) I’ve written five short stories. FIVE

This from a guy who couldn’t even think up of an idea for a story for three whole years.

I mean how does this happen?
It’s not like I had a lot of things happen to me to give ideas. I’ve just been at home, watching anime, reading books, watching movies, reading blogs and blogging myself.

I mean what?

1. When inspiration strikes, go with the flow. Don’t question it. Just finish it and then question this surprising and marvellous fountain of ideas that popping into your brain from god knows where. Honestly.

2. One CAN have too much Pizza.
